A new study used three different tests to examine how people react to men with thinning hair and those who sport a shaved head.

Researchers found men who choose to go bald by shaving their heads were perceived as being more masculine, even taller and physically stronger than those with thinning hair or full locks.

On reason for the perception may be because shaved heads are often associated with stereotypically masculine professions, like the military, police, firefighting and professional sports.

Now before you go shave your head consider this, men with shaved heads were rated lower in attractiveness and also seen as being older then men with hair.

Men with thinning hair were ranked lower than men with a full head of hair or shaved head.
