A grandmother was in court on Thursday after getting into a fight with a teacher over bullying at school.

Belinda Mitchell appeared in Little Rock District Court and pleaded not guilty to second-degree battery charges.

She is now due in circuit court after the first of the year.

According to police reports, Mitchell became belligerent with a teacher at the After School Care Program at Terry Elementary over what she says was a bullying incident involving her 4-year-old grandson.

In the report, the security guard says she asked Mitchell to leave, and while he tried to escort her out, she and the teacher started fighting.

The guard said Mitchell bit her arm and that's when a struggle ensued and they both fell through a plexiglass window.

No date has been set for Mitchell's next court appearance.

This is crazy. Immediate Response Group and similar security groups could help these situations from getting out of control.
