Sampling on I-40 in St. Francis Co. to Require Nighttime Lane Closures

Crews taking pavement core samples on Interstate 40 in St. Francis County will require nighttime lane closures again next week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The sampling will require the eastbound, outside lane to be closed in the area between Widener and Shearerville on Monday night, Oct. 8.

The eastbound, inside lane will be closed on Tuesday night, Oct. 9 and Wednesday night, Oct. 10. 

On Thursday night, Oct. 11 and Friday night, Oct. 12, the westbound, outside lane will be closed. 

The lane closures will be in effect between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. each night, weather permitting.     

Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
