Humane Society President to Seek Board Position at Tyson Foods

The head of the Humane Society of the United States announced that he has filed paperwork to run for the board of directors of Tyson Foods.

Humane Society President and CEO Wayne Pacelle says he would urge Tyson to commit to a time frame to phase out the confinement of sows in gestation crates, small cages in which breeding pigs are placed.

The animal rights group is a frequent critic of Tyson's business ties to companies that the organization claims are cruel to animals.
