Bryant Teacher Accused of Having Sex With Teenage Boy Out on Bond

A 31-year-old Bryant teacher facing felony sexual abuse charges involving a teenage boy is out on bond.
Courtney Speer posted a $20,000 bond and was released from the Saline County jail early Wednesday.
She is charged with five counts of sexual assault.
Police believe she had a sexual relationship with a teenage boy who was in her 9th grade English class at Bryant High School. The boy is now 17 years old.
Speer could not be reached for comment and her Facebook page had been taken down.
The Bryant School District would not comment on the situation at all, not even to confirm how long she had worked for the district.
Police say Speer resigned her teaching position on Monday after finding out she was under investigation.
