Lawmakers were busy Tuesday in a mock legislative session designed to bring understanding and awareness to disability issues.

Participants say having this platform gives them a chance to express their concerns to lawmakers.

They hope establishing this dialogue will help bring change, especially when it comes to transportation issues.

"Sometimes their disability keeps them from being able to drive and so I'm hoping to have a voice in getting funding for public transportation- better public transportation," says participant Amanda McGrew.

The session lasts through Wednesday.
