Funds Offered for Health-Related Events in Arkansas

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: October 2, 2012
The Arkansas Minority Health Commission (AMHC) is looking for groups to join forces with who wish to hold health-related events but need financial help for those projects.

The AMHC says it recognizes that improving minority health in Arkansas and the nation requires collaboration across many organizations.

That's why the AMHC is looking to team up with community-based organizations, schools, faith-based organizations and others to address the health problems that effect minorities in the state of Arkansas.

In an effort to facilitate the development of new and innovative approaches to promote health and prevent disease in these communities, the commission is offering up to $1,500 per organization in sponsorship, cost-reimbursement funding in a competitive application process.

Applications will be accepted for review from October 8th to November 21st for sponsorship events that will occur January 1st through June 30th of next year.

Applications should be mailed to the Arkansas Minority Health Commission, 523 Louisiana, Suite 425, Little Rock, AR 72201.

Click here to access the application and instructions or for more information on this funding opportunity on the AMHC website.
