Recycling Success at Arkansas Tech-Ozark

There's recycling success to celebrate at Arkansas Tech University's Ozark campus.
The official numbers are in from a September 25 e-waste recycling event during which the Computer Information Systems program and eSCO collected 22,160 pounds of electronics.
Laura Rudolph, director of community outreach for Arkansas Tech-Ozark, said, "It's not just rewarding to organize an electronic waste project to meet the university's green initiatives, it's imperative for students to gain the knowledge of current and legacy computer components."
eSCO is based in Rogers. The company collects, processes and recycles unwanted electronics with a "no landfill policy," disassembling all e-waste to the most finite of commodities to eliminate the production of wastes, according to its website.
CIS students traveled to Altus, Clarksville, Coal Hill, Lamar, Magazine, Ozark, Paris and Scranton to promote and collect e-waste as a part of their program's green initiatives.
