Obsessive Compulsive Disorder May Come From Gene

A study into one thing shines light
on another: the cause of obsessive compulsive disorder…something more than two
million Americans suffer from.
The study involved mice, bred
without a specific gene.
Researchers say one of the mice
suffered from compulsive grooming.
When researchers implanted the gene
back into the mice, they were able to prevent the symptoms.
They also stopped anxious behavior
with antidepressants.
Researchers say these findings could
lead to new genetic targets for drugs.
