Carlisle Police Bust Duo for Trying to Make Meth in Motel Room

Carlisle Police arrested two people on several drug charges Tuesday night.

According to the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office, two police officers went to investigate a report of theft at a motel in Carlisle when they smelled marijuana and chemical odors in the room, and found a black bag containing suspicious items and plastic tubing.

Narcotics investigators from the Sheriff's office assisted the officers, and found chemicals, components and paraphernalia used to make meth.

Authorities then arrested 19-year-old Taylor Alese Jones and 25-year-old Joshua Clay Burton, both of Hazen.

The two were arrested for possession of paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
