Early Voting Underway for LR, NLR, Pulaski County School Elections

Early voting is underway for the September 18 school elections in Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pulaski County.
Voters may cast ballots early through Monday, September 17.
The early voting site is the Pulaski County Regional Building at 501 W. Markham in downtown Little Rock. Early voting hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and there is no weekend voting.
Election Day Polls will not be open September 18 in the Pulaski County Special School District due to the 40.7 millage remaining the same as last year and no school board positions being available for the 2012 Annual School Election. The PCSSD will be conducting the School Election by early and absentee voting only.
The PCSSD's existing rate of tax levied by the PCSSD is composed of 25.0 mills specifically voted for general maintenance and operation, .9 mills for current expenditures/dedicated maintenance and operation millage, and 14.8 mills for debt service previously voted as a continuing debt service tax pledged for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness.
Election Day Polls will also not be open on September 18 in the North Little Rock School District (NLRSD), due to the approval of the millage in the February 14th Special Election and the absence of contested school board positions. The NLRSD will be conducting the school election by early and absentee voting only.
In the North Little Rock School District there are only three unopposed candidates on the ballot:
In the LRSD, there are contested races in Zones 6 and 7, along with keeping the millage at 46.4 mills.
