Some of the best anglers from around the world will descend on Hot Springs this week for the Forrest Wood Cup.
Some of the sport's biggest names will be competing for the million dollar top award, but before these athletes hit Lake Ouachita later this week, they're spreading a message about life.
A group of the pros travel the country sharing their stories and this weekend they gathered in Hot Springs for a little praise and worship before reeling in the big one.
Imagine hitting an Arkansas lake after tips from the pros.
"This tournament is going to boil down to the battle of the skills and the wills," admits angler Scott Martin, "The fish have gone deep and are very difficult to catch right now."
Just days before the 2007 FLW Tour Championship invades the Spa City local pros and others from around the world gathered at the Hot Springs Convention Center with tips of different kind.
"This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe," reads an angler from the Bible.
"The Big Thing" is a chance for anglers to speak about their career, experiences and their relationship with God.
Professional angler, Mark Davis is from Mount Ida.
He admits the highlight of his career is sharing the gospel while on tour.
"You show me what you want me to be and help me be that guy you want me to be," explains Davis about his prayers to God.
From fishing tales to the catch of the day, Davis is just one of many who take the stage at various sportsman outreaches.
"I just wanted to tell everyone hey don't rebel against God's plan, but live for his plan because it makes like so much better," adds Martin about his reason for attending the outreaches.
The FLW Championship kicks off Thursday, August 2nd, and runs through Sunday, the 5th, on Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs.
