The Casa City Council voted on Tuesday to pay for half the estimated $2,500 cost of getting Bonita Frazee's home on the city system.

Back in August, a wildfire dried up her spring-fed well, leaving her without running water.

The council also agreed to allow her to go on a payment plan for the remaining $1,250 in expenses.

"That's great and they're going to work with me. I'm happy very very happy. Very much relieved," Frazee said.

Going on three weeks now, Frazee has been hauling water from a friend's home to wash dishes, flush her toilets, and provide drinking water. She and her grandchildren have also been visiting neighbors' homes to bathe as well.

According to the mayor, he plans to contact the contractor tomorrow, who will bore the way for the new water lines.
