Jeff Buck has been left heartbroken by the death of his second son, Donovan.
"He was 29 when they took his life," he said. "My family, we'll feel that pain forever. And it's a terrible pain. You can't imagine what it feels like until you feel it for yourself."
Des Arc police arrived at 32 Calhoun Street early Saturday morning. Donovan had been stabbed to death.
"I hope Donovan gets justice. He deserves justice. Nobody deserves what he got," Buck said. "Whoever did this. They just cause misery for families and communities. They are the lowest level of cowards."
For Buck and his family, questions are easier to find than answers at this point.
"Oh, I have lots of questions. Not a whole lot of answers, probably never will have them all," Buck said. "The ones I have gotten have been sketchy. It's not all adding up."
Law enforcement have identified Frederick Owens, 30, as a person of interest. He's being held in Prairie County Jail for questioning in the case.
"They definitely weren't friends or anything like that. I don't think Donovan even knew him," Buck said. "It just doesn't make any sense at all why this happened. Everybody liked Donovan. He was easy-going. He wouldn't have been someone to start an argument."
The crime against Donovan doesn't mesh with the man family members knew; they can't imagine a motive anyone would have to hurt him.
"He had a certain way of touching people. If you didn't like him, you didn't know him," Buck said.
Donovan's death marks the second unsolved murder in this small town in 10 days. So, the entire city is stunned and still reeling.
"It is extremely difficult, and not just for me and my family for the community," Buck said.
While Buck hopes to lay Donovan to rest this week, this father won't rest until he sees justice for his son.
"Me and my family will stay after it pursue it all the way through and it will be relentless," he said.
