Charges have been filed against a former University of Central Arkansas president.

The charges come after an investigation into a food vendor's offer to give money to the school in exchange for a contract.

A Faulkner County prosecutor says Allen Meadors is charged with solicitation of tampering with a public record.

Meadors allegedly destroyed a letter regarding a $700,000 deal he made with Aramark.

The initial investigation resulted in Meadors' resignation from UCA last fall, and is punishable by up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
