There are no idle hands now as preparations and plans are being made statewide in advance of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Governor Mike Beebe outlined how the state is striving to keep lines of communication open.

"The emergency management's coordinating with our local county emergency management coordinators so that there's a constant line of communication in whatever needs happen, to exist that can't be fulfilled or met by the local county emergency managers that we can provide additional assistance," Governor Beebe said.

The governor says Arkansas State Police and the National Guard are also on standby to be called on as necessary.

Shelters and churches are also prepared to act as temporary shelters for those potentially displaced by flooding.
