The second in command in Faulkner County faced a judge for the first time on Wednesday.

County Administrator Jeff Johnston pleaded not guilty after being charged with stealing approximately $4,000 worth of asphalt in 2008.

A prosecutor says he used blacktop paid for by the county to pave his own driveway in Mount Vernon, but Johnston told a judge he wasn't guilty.

A trial date was set for October.

You would think with all the money he saved on the driveway he would be able to afford a decent haircut.
