The flag is flying at half staff at the Cove Creek Pearson Fire Department in honor of volunteer firefighter Cody Bradley.
The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office says Bradley was found shot to death in the bathtub of his home near Guy Monday.
His girlfriend, Jamie Leach, was arrested later that night and will be charged with Bradley's murder.
Friends, family and fellow firefighters says Bradley was a loveable rascal.
Cove Creek Fire Chief Doug Deckard says he'll remember the little things Bradley did, like washing his underwear with everyone's towels, and his playful nature.
Mother Stephanie Jeffery says Bradley would often drop by unannounced, and ask what was cookin.'
A Facebook page in Bradley's memory already had 1,500 likes by Thursday afternoon, and many of his friends replaced their profile pictures with a picture of department badge, cut across by a a banner with the words "Firefighter down."
Deckard says Bradley has been a volunteer with the department since 2009, and responded to more calls than any other crew member in 2010.
Father Philip Bradley says Cody "was an incredible son," and was heartbroken by the fact his only son wouldn't be able to carry on the family name.
Jeffery says she always knew Bradley had a lot of friends, but she was overwhelmed by an outpouring of support from people all over the county.
Bradley's funeral will be this Saturday at the Baptist Church in Quitman at 10 a.m. He will be given full military honors.
