City Council Conflict Could Cut Lights in Gould

According to the mayor, if city leaders don't come together, that's exactly what will happen.
The city building and street lights are in jeopardy of being shut off after bills haven't been paid since January, according to Mayor Ernest Nash.
Mayor Nash and a number of board members have been tied up in lawsuits and bickering for months, and even the city fire trucks are on the verge of being repossessed.
"I wish the council would do one of two things," says Mayor Nash. "Either come to the meeting, take care of business, or resign. Because if you don't want to do the job, get out of the way and let somebody who want to do the job, do the job."
The mayor is calling another emergency meeting Tuesday hoping enough council members attend.
If not, he says he'll ask two members who missed Monday night's meeting to resign.
