Jacksonville FD Gets New Equipment from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation

The Jacksonville and North Little Rock Fire Departments have some new, life-saving tools.

They received more than $23,000 in equipment on Wednesday thanks to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

The Jacksonville Fire Department now has four multi-gas detectors, giving firefighters the ability to determine whether the air is safe to breathe in a rescue situation.

"This is something that we've been wanting for a while, but haven't ever been able to get into the budget. With foundations like that and grants, we're able to get equipment that we really need that will help us and the citizens of Jacksonville."

You can donate to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation by buying recycled, five-gallon pickle buckets, leaving spare change in donation boxes, or through the "round up" program, which allows guests to round up their bill to the nearest dollar.
