(Long Island, NY) -- In today's health tip -- getting in shape for a wedding.
Whether you're the bride, the bridesmaid or just part of the audience, many people now consider losing weight an important to-do before a wedding.
Sue Fleming, creator of the "Buff Brides" book series and show on the Discovery Channel suggests not putting too much pressure on yourself, especially since you have a timeline when you want to look good.
1. Don't look at the wedding day as the end of your diet, but a continuation of your personal pact to look and feel good always.
2. Fleming suggests utilizing the help of a trainer or DVD instructional to get the most out of your workouts and focus on your target weight-loss areas. Also, don't overdo any exercises, as you don't want to injure yourself before the big day.
3. The earlier you begin your regimen, the more potential weight loss. Try losing a pound a week, which is a healthy rate of weight loss.
4. Never starve yourself, not only is it unhealthy, but it can take a toll on the quality of your skin, hair and most of all, your mood.
