The Saline County Sheriff's Office has received positive identification of the woman's body found Sunday in the Ouachita National Forest.
She is identified as Jackie Hibbs, 29, of the Jacksonville area.
Her death is still under investigation.
Original Story (July 30):
A man walking through the woods in the Ouachita National Forest discovered a body Saturday afternoon.
Saline County deputies and the Game and Fish Commission were called to the scene. Deputies confirm to KARK, they located the body of a white female in the north west portion of Saline County just outside the town of Paron.
It is not clear at this time how long the body has been in the area. Due to the heat and other conditions, the body was decomposing.
The remains have been sent to the state Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy and at this time, the person has not been identified.
Some, however, believe the body may be missing woman Jackie Hibbs. Hibbs was last seen the weekend of July 14 and was shortly after reported lost. Deputies from multiple agencies were searching for her around the area of Lake Sylvia.
That lake is approximately 14 miles from the town of Paron.
Deputies say they release more information throughout the day Monday. We'll of course keep you updated as soon as we have more information.
