New Diabetes Study May be in Jeopardy

Because health matters, many of the participants in the new diabetes study have dropped out since The New England Journal of Medicine suggested the drug increases the risk of heart attack by 40% of patients are tense.

"The problem is that once this is out there no matter what you say patients have anxiety levels," Cardiologist Dr. Daniel Wise said.

Drug maker Glaxo-Smith-Kline says the company's study was intended to last until 2008.  It's estimated that more than two million people worldwide take Avandia to treat type 2 diabetes.
