Saturday, hundreds hit the pavement, to support Arkansans living with mental illness.  Supporters of the Arkansas chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Health put their best foot forward in a 5-K walk Saturday morning in Burns Park.  Arkansas' First Lady, Ginger Beebe, served as honorary chair.  Besides raising money, the walk raises awareness -- to improve the lives of those living with mental illness.

"It's an illness just like anything else. It's okay now to have high cholesterol because what is it -- it's your eating pattern, or your genes, it's all genetic and that's exactly the way it is with mental illness, it's a brain disorder," NAMI Arkansas Executive Director, Kim Arnold said.

And organizers say that although one in five people suffer from mental illness -- the disease is treatable.
