There's a salsa cook-off at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs today.

The 1st Ever "Hotter Than July" Salsa Cook-off is going on from noon to 5PM at the gardens' Ellen Edmondson Great Lawn and Dierks Promenade.

There will be live salsa and Caribbean music from new local sensation, Fire & Brimstone. The Gardens' Chipmunk Cafe will be selling Mexican treats, margaritas and beer all afternoon.

Organizers say this event is more than a salsa contest. It's a party.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and people's choice.

The 1st place winner will also have their salsa bottled and sold in the Garvan Woodland Garden gift shop.
