By:
Updated: July 3, 2012

The Army Corps of Engineers will be closing Murray Lock in Little Rock on July 4th. Murray Lock will be closed from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. to all boat traffic.

The miter gate at the lock has developed a popping noise when its in operation and the July 4th closure will allow divers to inspect it.

If workers finish operating on the gate ahead of schedule, the lock will reopen at that time. If any other problems arise, the lock will be closed for additional time.
