Fortunately, you can still watch America's biggest fireworks display on television live from New York City.
The holiday fun starts at eight o'clock Wednesday night on NBC and KARK 4.
The 36th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks is set to ignite the night along the Hudson River. The celebration of America's 236th birthday is an extravaganza with an all-star line up of performances, including singers Katy Perry and Kenny Chesney.
The pyrotechnics will include 40,000 fireworks shells to create the spectacular display.
Crews have been working for the last few days carefully wiring each shell and loading them into individual mortars that are laid out on six specially rigged barges.
One by one the firework shells, some of which measure up to 10" in diameter, and weigh up to 35 pounds, will be loaded and synchronized to a custom-designed computerized digital firing system to explode with thunderous sound and brilliant color over the Hudson.
