Teri Swezey is half-way through her 3,000 mile walk across America.

It's going to take her about six and a half months to get clear across the country, but she's doing it to raise awareness for a good cause.

"I was motivated to do it by caring for my mother Mary for the last three years of her life," said Swezey. "It was that experience that inspired me to walk across America on behalf of caregivers and the people they care for."

Raising money along the way Swezey told KARK all proceeds will go to meals on wheels and other elderly organizations.
