Little Rock Cooling Centers Open Thursday

You can get some relief from the heat today as cooling centers are opening across Little Rock.
They'll be opening their doors from 1:00 am to 4:00 pm this afternoon.
The city has more than a dozen alert- and community centers, those will be open from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.

Searcy to Break Ground on New Airport Terminal

Searcy is having a a ground breaking ceremony for their new airport terminal.
The project is called, "Front Door to the City of Searcy."
The terminal is expected to cost an about $842,000, the city has already secured $600,000 between two grants from the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics Commission.

UAMS Hosts "Cook-In"

With the Fourth of July approaching, UAMS will demonstrate how to prepare healthy options for your cookout.
The "cook-in" will allow guests to taste corn dog bites, mock s'mores, and soft pretzels.  They can also burn calories at an introductory Zumba Class.
The free event is open to the public and is hosted by the Weight Loss and Metabolic Control Program at UAMS, which is a medically supervised program for losing weight and improving health.
The cook-in runs from 4-6PM Thursday on the 12th floor of the Jackson T. Stephens Spine and Neurosciences Institute.
