Lawyers for two cops charged with drug trafficking say they need more time.

Family and friends were estatic on June 7, when a federal judge said Mark Jones and Randall Robinson could go free, pending their trial.

Federal investigators say the former Little Rock policemen were on duty and driving patrol cars when they provided security for marijuana shipments.

Jones' defense attorney filed a motion in court Monday, asking for more time to prepare for the trial.

It's currently scheduled for late July, but lawyer Ronald Davis, Jr. says it's too soon.
