VIDEO: Surveillance of Suspect Aiming Camera Up Women's Skirts At Walmart

A teacher has been arrested, caught on surveillance cameras police say, attempting to take video up women's skirts at a Conway Walmart.

There's several victims in this case. They were simply shopping around, some of them with their kids in tow, not even knowing that their privacy was being violated, police say, by a school teacher.

"He appeared to be coming in on Sundays, wouldn't stay for long," said Officer Sean Canady with the Conway Police Department.

Called by Walmart staff to investigate prior claims, Tuesday Conway police coincidentally watched on surveillance video as the perpetrator struck again.

Police say Tuesday afternoon, he followed a woman around the Skyline Drive Walmart.

As she's checking out, baby in arms, he pretends to drop a piece of paper, then lowers a notebook between her legs.

Police say, rigged up in that notebook was an iPod, recording video.

"It looked like he had it rigged where he could do it and conceal it and still look like he was reading a shopping list," said Officer Canady.

Police immediately stopped the man, soon after identified as 55-year-old Michael Rush. They confiscated the notepad and the iPod and told the woman who until then was completely unaware of what had happened.

Police say they've got evidence Rush used the same method on several women several times in the last three weeks.

"Point blank it really aggravates me that someone is doing this in daylight, plain light, just didn't have a care in the world expect to make sure someone didn't see him," said Officer Canady.

Rush has already bonded out of jail.

No one answered the door at his home, although two cars, including one with a Vilonia school sticker, sat in the driveway.

Officer Canady says rush, a 15 year veteran of Vilonia high school, isn't setting a good example for children.

"It definitely bothers me he's a school teacher. He's in charge of children, that's not the kind of behavior we want a teacher to have," said the Officer.

Even as they continue to investigate this case, officer Canady says shoppers need to be aware.

"Because the ladies in the video didn't even seem to know what was happening," he said.

Rush was with charged with misdemeanor harassment but the case is still open and police are looking to identify other potential victims. More charges could come.

KARK spoke with the superintendent of the Vilonia District Tuesday. He said they are ready to take action, but because school is not out and Rush doesn't have contact with kids, they are awaiting more details in the investigation before they make any decisions.
