No Cases Pending for Former Little Rock Officers

By: Adam Rodriguez
Updated: June 6, 2012

What happens to the cases left behind by two former Little Rock police officers, now facing drug trafficking charges?

Mark Jones and Randall Robinson were ecstatic Monday, celebrating their release from jail with family and friends as they await trial.

The former street cops had more than 30 years of combined experience at the LRPD, but according to Pulaski County Prosecutor Larry Jegley, neither Jones nor Robinson had a single active case in circuit court.

Little Rock Police Spokesperson, Lt. Terry Hastings, says Jones and Robinson wouldn't have cases pending because they were street cops, and dealt with traffic citations.

Veteran officers tell KARK 4 News it's unusual for policemen on regular patrol to not have any cases in circuit court.

Jones and Robinson are accused of providing security for marijuana shipments coming into Little Rock. A trial date has not been set.
