The Little Rock Film Festival (LRFF) is gearing up for second night of events on Wednesday.

The night begins with an Evening with Jay at the Arkansas Arts Center. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Film Critic, Philip Martin, will moderate a discussion of Russell's career and will show clips from some of Russell's films. A reception will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the discussion will begin at 8:00 p.m. An after party will follow at the Arkansas Arts Center at 9:15 p.m.

Russell is an Arkansas native who has directed Academy Award winning actors including Sir Ben Kingsley, Sissy Spacek and William Hurt. His films have grossed hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office. His film End of the Line stars Kevin Bacon and Arkansas native, Mary Steenburgen.

Bernie, starring Jack Black, Matthew McConaughey and Shirley MacLaine, will screen Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Riverdale 10 Cinemas. Bernie is a comedy about a local mortician who strikes up a friendship with a wealthy widow only to kill her and then go to great lengths to create the illusion that she's alive.

The latest film from LRFF alumni, Daryl Wein, Lola Versus, will screen at the Riverdale 10 Cinema at 7:00 p.m. Wein won the LRFF audience award for his film Breaking Upwards and has now been picked up by Fox Searchlight. Lola Versus tells the story of a woman approaching 30 who is dumped by her fianc three weeks before their wedding. Variety's Peter Debruge called it a "snappy yet sincere romantic comedy."
