By: Josh Berry
Updated: May 28, 2012

May 28th Update:

Kark has obtained a completed DHS investigation report into the Russellville Child Care Center accused of neglect and abuse.

In the report, the Department of Human Services cites five different licensing neglects at the Michild Enrichment Center, the neglect pertains to the center leaving a child injured on a playground for minutes.

Reported narratives show different Michild employees leaving the area unattended and unaware of an injured child.

DHS confirmed there are still more ongoing licensing investigations into the center.

Orignal Story:

Since we first shared with you 2 weeks ago the allegations of neglect and investigations into a child care center in Russellville, KARK has received numerous calls and even photos of more alleged neglect.

The MiChild Enrichment Center declined to comment on any specific case or investigation, but did say the former director was released this week.

That director, Barbara Jackson, told KARK she was let go as a result of on-going investigations into the facility.

DHS confirmed there is an ongoing licensing investigation.

Comments

I am not sure that I agree that the facility needs to be shut down. My son use to go there and received amazing care. Maybe, they need to go through and re-evaluate who they hire and make sure they are there for the right reason.

They just need to shut Michild down. I would never take my child there. they need to be prosecuted for neglet and abuse.
