Little Rock Charity Says "Keep the Cooties Off Your Booty"

A Little Rock charity is using some catchy phrases and an unusual idea to raise some money during this weekend's Riverfest.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is teaming up with the Courtyard by Marriott Little Rock Downtown to sell "Potty Passes" that promise to "KEEP THE COOTIES OFF YOUR BOOTY!" and "DON'T MAKE YOUR HOTTIE USE THE PORTA POTTY!"

About 16 hotel associates will volunteer their time over the course of the 3-day festival, May 25-27, to sell "Potty Passes" to raise money for a Make-A-Wish Foundation child.

It will cost festival attendees $3 for a single use pass or $5 for an all-day pass, for unlimited visits throughout the day, giving contributors access to the hotel's clean and spacious bathroom facilities.

Other donations will also be accepted in person and online.

This year marks the third year the hotel has participated in the fundraiser. The hotel team hopes to raise at least $5,000 to become a Wish Sponsor again this year. The Courtyard by Marriott Little Rock Downtown is owned and managed by McKibbon Hotel Management, Inc., based in Tampa, Florida. Through McKibbon's generous matching funds program, monies raised by the hotel associates will be matched by the company.

"We chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation last year, because you actually have the opportunity to meet the wish child and be a part of granting the wish," said Kristen Hinson, Guest Service Manager for the hotel. She was involved with Make-A-Wish during college and was also a part of the 2011 fundraising efforts by the hotel. "Last year, we were able to sponsor a child's wish to go to Disney World. In addition to the trip, we bought him a digital camera and a backpack filled with goodies to keep him entertained on the flight to Florida," said Hinson. "We really get to be more involved with where the money goes. It's something that's pretty spectacular. If you've never been a part of granting a wish, it's an amazing feeling and you won't see a dry eye in the room."

Riverfest attendees are encouraged to visit the Courtyard by Marriott Little Rock Downtown at 521 President Clinton Avenue to buy passes or make donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation (click here).
