Terry Detherow, 45, of England stands accused of murdering John Mosley Saturday night at a party in Scott.
Lt. Carl Minden says Detherow became involved in some sort of an altercation sometime after 9:00 p.m. Detherow allegedly fired an unknown caliber handgun at two men. One bullet grazed Charles Wilmoth across the face, another struck Mosley in the chest, killing him.
From there police say Detherow fled to Little Rock where he holed up at a hotel. Police say while there Detherow beat his girlfriend.
Detherow is in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
Mosley's family declined to go on camera, but told KARK news they're mourning his death and that it was a life taken much too soon.
Detherow's family said he insists he didn't have a gun. His mother Bonnie Detherow also said he told her he heard gunshots but did not see what happened.
Bonnie Detherow said the victim in the domestic disturbance had fallen down a flight of stairs.
