More than 71,000 Arkansans have made their voices heard, voting early for Tuesday's primary.

But in Pulaski County, early voting totals are significantly low this year, especially compared to just two years ago, when nearly twice as many voters got to the polls early.

Monday will be the last day to get out and early vote and the Election Commission is still optimistic, hoping for a huge jump in numbers on the last day.

Election commissioners credit a number of reasons for the low turnout, namely among them, a lack of interest.

Still, there were people getting to the election locations today. we caught up with one man who's fulfilling a promise he made to himself before he was even allowed to vote.

"I'd hear people say 'I'm not gonna vote,' and I'd say oh I wish I could vote in your place. I promised my self then if I ever got old enough to vote, I was not going to pass up the opportunity," said Ken Parker.

Parker is just over 80 years old and for the last 62 years, has never missed a date with the polls.

He even remembers the very first person he voted for: Dwight D. Eisenhower.
