Former "Friends" star is Matthew Perry is returning to NBC.

His new comedy, "Go On", about a wisecracking sportscaster coping with loss is one of six new series the network is launching this fall.

"He's a big star. He's a great actor, not only a great comic actor. He's a great actor," said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment.

Also joining the comedy lineup is "The New Normal" from "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy.

Family audiences are the target with two Wednesday comedies, "Guys with Kids", about young dads adjusting to parenthood and "Animal Practice". It stars Justin Kirk as a veterinarian who enjoys dealing with pets more than their owners.

NBC's also got two new dramas for fall. "Revolution" follows the aftermath of an event that wipes out society's ability to use modern technology. "Chicago Fire", about the exploits of firefighters and paramedics, comes from "Law and Order" creator Dick Wolf.

"There's some great action in these fires and rescues, but most of the drama is going to happen between these characters in the fire house," said Greenblatt.

Along with the new shows, NBC also announced its biggest hit will be back in the fall, "The Voice." In fact, there will be fall and spring editions of "The Voice" next season, possibly with the same four judges in each.

Viewers, meanwhile, will decide how NBC's new fall lineup shakes out.

NBC's long running comedies, "30 Rock" and "The Office" are both coming back in the fall, but the network says no decision has been made yet on whether it might be the final season for either.

NBC's newsmagazine, "Rock Center with Brian Williams" will move to Thursdays at 9:00 in the fall, following "Parks and Recreation." Comedies "Up All Night", "Community" and "Whitney" also return, as do the dramas "Parenthood" and "Law and Order: SVU".

"The Biggest Loser" and "Smash" are also coming back, but not until mid-season. That's when NBC will also debut several new shows, including the comedy "Save Me" with Anne Heche and the drama "Hannibal", based on the Hannibal Lecter character from "Silence of the Lambs".
