The University of Central Arkansas Bears will take on the UALR Trojans on Tuesday night as part of the State Farm Arkansas Classic at North Little Rock's Dickey-Stephens Park.

The event will be a doubleheader among in-state teams, beginning with an Arkansas State-UAPB matchup at 3:30, followed by UCA-UALR at 7 p.m.

"We're excited about being a part of this night,' said UCA head coach Allen Gum. "It will be exciting for our players and fans to get to play at a place like Dickey-Stephens Park. We're certainly looking forward to it.'

The Bears are coming off a 2-1 series victory over Northwestern State on Sunday at Bear Stadium. UCA has won all five of its home series against Southland Conference competition this season and stands 20-23 overall and 14-13 in conference play. The Bears are in fifth place in the SLC with two three-game series remaining at Stephen F. Austin and at home against league-leader Sam Houston State.

UALR is 23-24 overall and 10-14 in the Sun Belt Conference. Both teams have individuals ranked nationally. UCA junior right fielder Forrestt Allday is fourth in the nation in walks with a school-record 49 and is fifth in on-base percentage at .523. UALR's Shawn Bignall is tied for first in the nation with 17 home runs, while the Bears have only 16 as a team. The Trojans have 55 home runs on the season.

UCA sophomore Jonathan Davis, the 2011 SLC Freshman of the Year, injured his left wrist on Saturday and will be limited this week.  He is  the Bears' second-leading hitter at .333, is second in runs scored (35) and leads the team in stolen bases (17).

Tickets are $6 for general admission and $8 for reserved seats and can be purchased through the Travelers ticket office by phone at 501-664-1555.
