It's a dying practice, that is seeing success in Central Arkansas: UAMS' House Call Program. Dr. Delbra Caradine goes to the homes of about 200 patients, to treat everything from Hypertension to Alzheimer's Disease.

"It's working because there's a need," Caradine says.

Little Rock resident, Camille Tucker calls Dr. Caradine a God-send, saying not having to get her mother, Ruby Ross, out of her bed and to a hospital, for checkups and other medical needs takes the stress off of her and her mother. "You know with older people, and this oxygen... to have to try and get her to the hospital, and all the different people to carry her, it messes her up for a couple of days, " says Tucker.

And aside from the patient benefit, Dr. Caradine says it helps her do her job better. "And I think you get a lot more information from a patient in their home, because they are comfortable."
