Benton Parks Board Tackles Controversies

Benton parks board members are trying to find their cash after an audit revealed mismanaged funds at a Tyndall Park concession stand.
Parks director Curtis McCormack and assistant director Kitty Smith are on paid leave while the investigation continues.
The city attorney says the parks department was running the stand as a cash only operation in 2011 but the city's accounting office had no clue.

They continue to search for roughly six thousand dollars that's unnaccounted for.
At a meeting Thursday night, the board named Gene Moss as interim volunteer to run the concession stand.
The board also named Sherri Laubner as interm Director of Parks and Recreation, as well as asking police and the Benton city attorney to review the case.
