A baby was a little impatient to come into the world, and the story of his birth will likely be one his family tells over and over again.

Nancy Wegner has a special connection to her brand new grandson, having been the one to hold him for the first time.

"It's like something you see in a movie but never think could ever happen to you," she said.

For hours, Nancy's daughter, Sarah Miller, had been home with contractions. She had been told by doctors they were a false alarm. That was, until Saturday morning.

Wegner explained the interaction she had with her daughter.

"'The baby's coming, the baby's coming,' and I kept saying are you sure? 'Well, I'm not sure but I'm having really bad contractions,' so we started down Seminole Pratt Whitney."

Fifteen minutes down the road, after stopping to get gas in the car, her daughter was certain the time had come.

"She said 'I think I'm having the baby' and she said 'I think you better dial 911.' So I said, 'are you sure?' And she said, 'yes, I'm positive. I really think I'm having the baby.' "

Still on the road and driving to the hospital, Wegner took instructions from 911, her daughter screaming beside her.

"As she began to look to see if she could see the baby's head, the baby came out. It just literally came right out and fell onto the floor of our Ford Expedition," Wegner recalls.

She pulled over next to a red barn in a driveway, making it the official birthplace of her new grandson.

"So I pulled over, got out of the car, ran over to the other side, picked up my grandson who was on the floor, still connected with the umbilical cord, wrapped him in a blanket," she says.

Luke Curtis Miller had arrived, 7 pounds, 19.5 inches and perfectly healthy.
