Nearly
everyday, we tell our viewers about the sad circumstances of one
person taking another's life.
But what happens after a murder
and how does a family heal?
That's where the group Parents of
Murdered Children comes in. They are a support group for all the
victims that are left behind after a murder.
Sunday kicked off
Crime Victim Rights Week and dozens gathered at the Clinton library
to take part, supporting each other and honoring the lives of those
they have lost.
Family members say a network like this is
critical to helping them heal.
"Until
it's happended, you just don't realize how horrible the pain is, the
fact that someone just deliberating took your loved one's life,
usually for no reason," saiid Elaine Colclasure. Her husband was
murdered in 1989.
The group is celebrating 20 years. Sunday,
they heard from Pulaski County Sheriff Doc Holladay and Melinda
Crowder, the mother of murdered Pine Bluff teen Casey Crowder.
