Fish Oil Benefits Questioned

By: CNN News
Updated: April 10, 2012

The supplement has become popular for promoting heart health, but a new peer review study published this week in the Archives of Internal Medicine says the omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil don't help people with a history of cardiovascular disease.

Early studies suggested that omega-3s may fight blood clotting, hardening of arteries and inflammation, but those theories have never been confirmed conclusively.
