More Students Graduating College In Arkansas

Updated: January 7, 2009
The latest numbers from the US Census Bureau show a jump in the number of kids who are going to college in Arkansas. The Census Bureau says the number of Arkansans with a bachelors degree rose 16 percent between 2000 and 2003. The number is still less than in other states, but analysts say its a promising sign. The number of college graduates is an important indicator of what kind of jobs are created in the economy. If more college-educated workers are available in Arkansas, its widely believed companies will be more likely to move here to take advantage of that worker pool.
