Trimming the Fat

Do you treat yourself with filet mignon after finishing a big project at work? It may sound like a great kind of reward to you, but the state says food should not be used to reward Arkansas school children. Act 1220 of 2003, now in effect, restricts the sale and use of food on campuses to treat kids. Its curtailing the sales PTAs do on campuses to raise money and praise children. Schools like Sherwood Elementary are now trying to figure out what to do with the tons of ice cream theyd already purchased for weekly incentive treats. While some say even small steps like this will improve the health of the states kids, others say parents are the biggest influence on kids and this wont help.
