Paron May Consolidate With Bryant

Updated: January 7, 2009
Officials with the tiny Paron School District hope to merge with the 6,200 student Bryant School District. The Paron board hopes to be able to keep its high school by making the move. The board of the 265 student Paron district approved the consolidation plan Monday and the Bryant School Board is set to consider the issue Thursday night. Under a law passed in this years special legislative session, school districts with fewer than 350 students are required to merge their administrations before the start of the next school year. The law was part of the states response to a court order to overhaul its public school system.
