Farmington Teacher Receives Milken Award

The sixth-grade science teacher at Randall G.
Lynch Middle School will receive 25-thousand dollars cash for her
high standards and hard work in the classroom.
Melissa Miller learned that she had received the Milken Family
Foundation National Educator Award during a presentation at her
school by state Education Department Director Ray Simon.
She is allowed to use the money in any way she chooses. She is
one of 100 teachers nationwide to receive the cash award, which
will be presented to the teachers at a national conference in Los
Angeles.
Miller has been teaching for 18 years and in the past has
received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science
Teaching. She is a member of the Arkansas Science Teachers
Association and the National Science Teachers Association.
