State lawmakers working to help Arkansas school system ditch its labeling as unconstitutional, say little learners need one-on-one attention. After a summer of study, the Joint Committee on Educational Adequacy released its findings yesterday. One of the members recommendations is that only 15 children be in every K through 3 classroom in the state. Committee co-chair Senator Jim Argue says that change is needed to give kids the best chance to be successful in the long-term. The total price tag for all the proposals the committee put toegther is $847 million dollars. The report doesnt include any strategies for how the state should pay that bill. Lawmakers are planning to meet with the governor soon to discuss their findings.
