Classes begin today at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and officials say traffic and housing will be congested. The university says the campus has 675 fewer parking spaces than at this time a year ago. Work on new parking lots is underway, and more than 400 spaces will open. Students will find extra bus service is available in the evenings. Also, the university has more students who applied for on-campus housing than it has room for. So, the school is putting up some students in a local hotel. The students get maid service, but they also have to commute to campus. Officials say dorm rooms should open up within a couple of weeks, and that the students will be able to move to campus.
